Alma Hernandez won a state House seat in 2018 at age 25 and is term-limited after eight years. She sponsored Arizona's 2021 law making Holocaust education mandatory, and the district's Democratic committee counted 151 votes she cast with Republicans since 2023. She won the July 21 primary for the LD20 Senate seat over Rocque Perez by about 600 votes and is the only candidate on the November ballot. She is the sister of Rep. Consuelo Hernandez and former Rep. Daniel Hernandez.

Betty Villegas managed Pima County's affordable housing program for years before retiring in 2016, served briefly on the Pima County Board of Supervisors in 2020, and was director of housing and community development for South Tucson when supervisors appointed her to the state House in July 2023 to replace Andrés Cano. She won a full term in 2024. Housing dominates her legislative work — affordability, landlord-tenant disputes, housing discrimination and abandoned property. She finished second in the July 21 primary.

Sally Ann Gonzales

Sally Ann Gonzales is an educator who served on the Pascua Yaqui Tribal Council from 1992 to 1998. She was in the state House from 1997 to 2001 and again from 2011 to 2019, then moved to the Senate in 2019, where she is now term-limited. She led the four-way July 21 Democratic primary for two LD20 House seats. In 2022 she sponsored a law letting incarcerated juveniles take the GED test before release.
