Kevin Thompson
Republican · Corporation Commissioner
Kevin Thompson has sat on the Corporation Commission since January 2023, after eight years on the Mesa City Council. He led the commission's unanimous March vote repealing Arizona's renewable energy standards. Thompson also runs a consulting firm and said at a June industry conference that one of his clients is a data center, as the commission weighs APS's request to raise rates.

Ralph Heap

Ralph Heap practiced orthopedic surgery for four decades before winning an Arizona House seat in 2024. He unseated sitting Commissioner Nick Myers in the Republican primary with Freedom Caucus backing. The Citizens Clean Elections Commission is investigating whether Heap failed to report campaign sign spending and is withholding $370,000 in public funding. The Arizona Medical Board reprimanded him in 2023 over a patient's post-surgical care.

Clara Pratte, a member of the Navajo Nation, co-founded the tribal solar developer Navajo Power and chairs it. She ran the Small Business Administration's Office of Native American Affairs under President Barack Obama, directed the Navajo Nation's Washington office, and served as chief of staff to its president. Pratte says she would recuse herself from Navajo Power matters if elected.

Jonathon Hill

Jonathon Hill, a Tempe engineer and geologist, has worked on NASA missions at Arizona State University since 2006 and holds a doctorate in geological sciences. He ran for the Corporation Commission in 2024 and lost. Hill wants to pause data center development, says the pending APS rate increase should have been rejected outright, and would use the commission's subpoena power on utilities.

Mike Cease
Green · Corporation Commissioner
Mike Cease, a Tucson database consultant with chemical engineering degrees, chaired the Arizona Green Party in 2015 and is its nominee for the commission. He ran for the Corporation Commission in 2024, for Tucson mayor in 2019 and for a Tucson City Council seat in 2017, losing each. His candidate statement calls for sanctioning mining and energy companies.
