Abraham Hamadeh was first elected to Arizona's 8th Congressional District in 2024. He previously lost the 2022 attorney general race to Democrat Kris Mayes by 280 votes after a statewide recount, then challenged the result in court repeatedly and lost each time. He still claims to have won the race. Hamadeh is a former Maricopa County prosecutor and a captain in the Army Reserve.

Bernadette Greene-Placentia is a long-haul truck driver and Democratic campaign operative who won the 2026 Democratic primary in Arizona's 8th Congressional District. She entered the 2024 race for the same seat but withdrew before the primary. She has not held elected office. Greene-Placentia says she has logged nearly four million miles over 27 years driving.
