State Senate

Timothy Dunn
Republican · Senate
Timothy Dunn, a Yuma farmer, was appointed to the state House in 2018 to replace Don Shooter, whom the House expelled after an investigation found he had serially harassed women. He moved to the Senate in 2024, running unopposed. Agriculture and water drive his work: he has pushed to tap the Harquahala Valley groundwater basin to supply Phoenix-area growth. In 2024 he was one of three House Republicans who joined Democrats to repeal Arizona's Civil War-era abortion ban.

Laura Huber
Democrat · Senate
Completed the Agenda's candidate questionnaire
Laura Huber is a mental health counselor whose work has taken her into jails, homeless outreach and psychiatric wards, and who has run her own business. She advanced unopposed from the July 21 Democratic primary and faces an incumbent who drew no opponent in 2024. Little else about her record is documented. She says she comes from five generations of farmers and that Arizona will have to transition to desalinated water.

State House

Nickolas Kupper
Republican · House
Nickolas Kupper, an Air Force veteran who gained attention before his election for refusing the COVID-19 vaccine, is finishing his first House term. His first bill, HB2112, which Gov. Katie Hobbs signed in May 2025, requires sites with substantial sexual content to verify users' ages; a second signed bill shields landlords from liability for damage by service animals. He drew criticism in 2026 for a since-deleted post about a Democratic colleague's newborn and abortion.

Michael Carbone
Republican · House
Michael Carbone, who works for a public-management consulting firm, has served in the House since 2023 and became majority leader in 2025. The Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry named him its 2023 Representative of the Year for a construction sales-tax bill, and in 2024 he carried the laws legalizing casitas and middle housing such as duplexes and townhomes in single-family zones. He led the July 21 primary. He previously went by Michael Jorudd and pleaded guilty to reckless driving in Illinois.

Tiffany Byrne
Democrat · House
Completed the Agenda's candidate questionnaire
Tiffany Byrne is a science curriculum specialist in the Dysart Unified School District and lives in Waddell. She advanced unopposed from the July 21 Democratic primary. Her campaign platform centers on K-12 funding, accountability for the Empowerment Scholarship Account voucher program, housing and water oversight. Beyond that, little about her background is documented. She says Arizona communities "deserve leaders who bring people together, not drive them apart."
