Kris Mayes has been Arizona's attorney general since January 2023, after winning the 2022 election by 280 votes. She served on the Arizona Corporation Commission from 2003 to 2011 and worked as a journalist before going into law and politics. Her office indicted 18 people over the 2020 "fake electors" scheme; that case is now stalled in court.
