David Farnsworth is a real estate investor who served in the state Senate from 2013 to 2021, and returned to the chamber in 2022 by beating then-House Speaker Rusty Bowers in the Republican primary weeks after Bowers testified before the congressional January 6 committee. During that campaign Farnsworth called the 2020 election "a real conspiracy headed up by the Devil himself." He won reelection in 2024 and was unopposed in this year's primary. He declined the Clean Elections debate.
